It's October. I just can't believe it. Life is wonderful and time flies so fast! I am happy that it's the start of a new month for several reasons, one being a new monthly challenge! I love this part of my job because I see how wonderful and talented our fans are! Plus it lets me get my hands dirty and create when it seems like my work days are spent more and more on the computer.
I love the sketches this month! The page sketch is different for us since it only has 1 photo. You know I usually always pick multiple photo sketches. But pick a special photo for a special moment and use it on this layout. Thank you, Susan from Sketch Savvy, for supplying our sketch!
Here is October's Layout Sketch...
And my special moment to scrap was my son finally learning to tie his shoes! A big deal to us :)
I used the Neon Chic Stack that is out at Michaels right now. I love the bright colors and fun prints. I thought it would be perfect to show the excitement in my sons face.
And instead of the flowers on the sketch, I had to add lots of bows obviously ;)
Here is our October Card Sketch from Got Sketch??
I thought it would be so fun for any kind of occasion! Here is what I came up using the Carnival Stack which is at Michaels too.
I mixed the fun prints from the stack with some old book print for my flower. I think the basic flower makes your eye focus right on the papers!
Ok, ready to play!? Here is the scoop if you want to enter in this month's challenge! Our October deadline is 10-30 at Midnight Central Time. To enter, make a project using the sketches (you are welcome to participate in both layout & card challenges) just make sure you are using a DCWV Stack! Take a photo and either email it to me at erinmadsen@diecutsinc.com or post it on our DCWV Facebook Page. You are welcome to post the photos to your blog and just give me the link :)
I can't wait to see what you create with these sketches! I gave the sketches to our Design Team Members and this is what a few of them came up with...
Sara / Safari Kids Stack
Karen / Sweet Blossom Stack
I hope these beautiful pieces are getting the ball rolling in your head of all the possibilities! Come play with us!!
Have a wonderful day!
